Government of Nepal Ministry of Home Affairs has made the list of Public holidays in Nepal for the new year 2077 BS (2020-2021 AD).

According to a notification published by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Nepal Gazett, there will be 67 days public holidays including 52 Saturdays of the year, five days for Dashain, three days of Tihar and other seven days for the regional and religious specified holidays in 2077BS (2020-2021 AD).

Government of Nepal has granted public holidays for five days during Dashain and three days during Tihar. For dashain, there are five days of public holidays from October 23 to 27 starting with Phulpati till Ekadashi, with the Tika day on October 26. Likewise, for Tihar, there are three days of holidays from November 14 to 16, on the days of Laxmi Puja, followed by Mha Puja and Bhaitika, Govardhan Puja and Nepal Sambat New Year.

Seven public holidays include Nepali New Year day, Buddha Jayanti, Mahashivaratri, Holi, International Workers’ Day, Constitution Day and International Women’s Day, which will be applicable to all.

Other festival holidays will be effective only in the concerned districts and for followers of specific religion and rituals.

Attendance & departure time:

(A) All Government Offices across the State of Nepal Office hours will be -

1st Baishakh to 15th Kartik:
10:00 am to 5:00 pm, from

16th Magh to end of Chaitra:
10:00am to 4:00pm, from 16 Kartik to 15 Magh.

(B) Every Friday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm "Half a day" should be 3 months from 16th Kartik to 15th Magh, at 1 pm and from 16th Magh to 15th Kartik 1:30 pm.
