Group 'A'

Attempt any ten questions. [10x1=10]

1. What is plane table surveying?
2. Write any one use of alidate in plane tabelling.
3. Write the main function of plumbing fork.

7. What do you mean by 12cm theodolite?

Attempt any five questions. [5x2=10]

14. Write any four advantages of plane table surveying.
15. If the staff reading when staff base is at floor and ceiling (inverted) of a room is 1.25m and 2.75m. Find the floor height of room.
16. Name the temporary adjustment of level and explain any one shortly.

17. Write any four points which describe the geometry of theodolite.
18. Find the contour interval of map of scale 1: 20000.
19. Write any four characteristics of contour?
Group 'C'

Attempt any five questions. [5x4=20]

21. What are the different methods of plane table surveying? Explain any one with figure.
22. Following are the reading taken by dumpy level.
0.3, 0.5, 0.6, 1.7, 1.9, 2.3, 1.7, 0.4, 0.7, 1.2 and 1.0
The position of the instrument was changed after 3rd, 7th and 9th reading. Assume the RL of 1st reading as 80m. Calculate RL of all the points by applying rise and fall method with necessary check.
23. Write the sources of error in levelling with explanation.

24. Write the general procedure of measurement of horizontal angle. Also draw the figure.
25. Write any four differences between direct and indirect method of contouring.
26. Derive an equation for horizontal and vertical distance by the tangential method when both the angles are angle of elevation.
