Attempt Any Five questions.

1.

a) Explain the construction and operation of moving coil instrument. Also write the application of DC ammeter. [6+2=8]

b) Explain the basic construction and working principle of cathode ray oscilloscope. [8]

2.

a) Explain how medium resistance can be measured by using wheat stone bridge method with necessary diagram. [8]

b) Following data refers to moving coil voltmeter. Resistance (R)=15,000𝛺, Dimension of coil = 30mmx30mm, Number of turns of a coil = 100, Flux density in air gap (B) = 0.05 wb/m², spring constant (k) = 3x10⁻⁶ NM/degree. Find the deflection produce by voltmeter of 300v. [8]

3.

a) Define Maxwell inductance bridge with appropriate figure. [8]

b) Define potentiometer. Explain the construction and operation of inductive potentiometer. [8]

4.

a) Explain the construction and working principle of lux meter. [8]

b) Explain about Transducer for measuring the distance with necessary diagram and also write it's application. [8]

5.

a) What do you mean by TOD meter? Explain working principle and application of TOD meter. [8]

b) What are the instrument transformers? Explain the operating principle of Current Transformer (CT) with clear circuit. [3+5=8]

6. Write short notes on: (Any Four) [4x4=16]

(a) Digital measuring instruments.
(b) Shunts.
(c) VAR meter.
(d) Damping torque.
(e) Piezometer.
